Build the laugh
Pair a setup with the punchline only you would dare play.
Guffawful 2.0 · currently in the workshop
The dad-joke party game is being rebuilt with new cards, new chaos, and a little help from the Fanny Pack Five.
No premature rulebook. No imaginary release date. Just the honest build, one playtest at a time.
The Fanny Pack Five are tuning up.
The heart of Guffawful
Match ridiculous setups with punchlines, read the room, and chase the response every dad-joke artist dreams of: laughter followed immediately by “oh, come on.”
Guffawful is easy to enter, social by design, and built for the kind of game night people quote long after the cards go away.
Pair a setup with the punchline only you would dare play.
The funniest answer is whatever your particular table decides.
Because the straight line to a punchline is rarely the best one.
A transparent look at 2.0
We know the feeling we want. The details are earning their way into the box through real play—not wishful copywriting.
See the evolving way to play →Setup-and-punchline combinations, group reactions, and gloriously groan-worthy humor.
Fresh wording, sharper choices, and more ways for every player to land a joke.
A new layer of scene-setting, surprises, and questionable assistance is taking shape.
Component counts, rules, and packaging will lock only after the new version earns it.
Working direction
We’re testing a new layer—working title: Dad Wisdom—that may set a scene, change a round, or call in questionable help from the Fanny Pack Five.
Names and mechanics may change after playtesting. The fun is the promise; the exact rule is still holding a carpenter’s pencil.
The shape of a round
This is the stable core. The full 2.0 rules arrive after the new gameplay survives family tables, friend groups, and at least one suspiciously competitive dad.
A question, scenario, or unfinished thought puts the joke in motion.
Play the answer most likely to win the room—or derail it beautifully.
Laughs, groans, and group judgment determine which dad logic prevails.
Meet the Fanny Pack Five
They’re the house band, the helpful hint department, and—if playtesting has anything to say about it—possible accomplices in the next version of the game.
What’s in the box?
That’s the direction. The final card count, action mix, and remaining components will be published once 2.0 has been tested enough to deserve a printed rulebook.
Why we’re making it
“We believe laughter connects people. Guffawful turns everyday humor into shared moments that remind us not to take life too seriously.”
That mission came with us from the first edition. The rebuild is about making the game live up to it even better.
EXTRA! EXTRA! EVENTUALLY!
The presses are paused while Guffawful 2.0 is in the workshop. When the ink starts flying again, expect honest updates—not manufactured launch noise.
What changed, what survived, and what the dads broke during testing.
Real reactions from family tables, friend groups, and questionable strategists.
Observations from the front lines of puns, groans, and backyard logic.
